Apex Plumbing was founded in Denver in 2008, when Mike Henderson left a large commercial plumbing firm and started taking residential calls out of his truck. He had two goals: provide master-level work at fair prices, and always answer the phone.
From One Truck to a Full Team
By 2012, word had spread through Capitol Hill, LoDo, and the Highlands neighborhood. Mike hired his first crew member — a journeyman plumber who's still with the company today. By 2016, Apex had grown to five technicians and added 24/7 emergency service, becoming one of the first Denver plumbing companies to guarantee no after-hours surcharges.
Denver-Specific Expertise
Sixteen years of Denver plumbing work taught the Apex team things that textbooks don't cover. Denver's water is moderately hard — around 75-100 ppm calcium carbonate — which means water heater anode rods wear faster than the national average. Denver's temperature swings, sometimes 40°F in a single day, stress pipe joints and fittings in ways that require Denver-specific repair techniques.
Our team has worked in nearly every neighborhood in Denver, from the Victorian-era homes of Curtis Park to the modern builds in Stapleton and Montbello. That breadth of experience means we rarely encounter a situation we haven't seen before.
Community-First Philosophy
Apex is a Denver company, not a franchise. Every dollar you spend with us stays in the Denver community. We sponsor the Park Hill Little League, participate in the Denver Home Show each year, and partner with Denver Housing Authority to provide discounted plumbing inspections for income-qualified homeowners.
